The clouds were too low and warm to show on the satellite, but they looked very thick from underneath. Good weather for pretending to be Jedi with flashlightsabers, bad weather for astronomy. We had trouble with two instruments (DIS warm, SPIcam with condensation on the dewar window), but with Job Davis's help we were able to deal with both while the telescope was closed. Aside from those, I spent some time tonight training a new observer and a new observing specialist, set up the DIS gratings for tomorrow, and called it an early night. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El #Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 17:01 46 47 12 199 (SSW) 29 overcast fog 18:01 47 48 8 181 (S) 36 overcast fog 19:01 47 48 6 180 (S) 112 overcast fog 20:01 46 47 9 143 (SE) 36 overcast fog 21:01 45 45 7 145 (SE) 159 overcast fog 22:01 43 44 9 138 (SE) 204 overcast fog 23:01 44 45 8 144 (SE) 162 overcast fog 00:01 44 44 13 146 (SE) 24 overcast fog 01:01 41 42 16 128 (SE) 7 overcast rain 02:01 41 41 17 127 (SE) 2 overcast rain note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
