Once we were open, the seeing was good, the skies were mostly clear, the pointing (after correction) was fine, and the tracking (with the guider running) was perfect. Observing Specialist, 2nd shift: Noel Camron Hastings Second half started with a refocus and all seemed to be operating well. We did have some slit imager failures at one point, about 3 and then they stopped. Telescope had trouble tracking on last object when we were near zenith (87+ degrees). --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El #Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:52 DISslit -150(1131) 167 83 16.4/18.7 270 7 - 0.78 20:24 DISslit - 50(1251) 332 51 16.7/18.0 265 7 - 0.95 21:42 DISslit - 25(1250) 328 43 16.5/16.9 223 11 - 1.05 00:16 DISslit +100(1340) 219 44 15.4/15.2 259 8 - 1.23 ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 18:01 67 31 13 267 (W) 412 clear none 19:01 62 31 5 266 (W) 429 clear none 20:01 62 31 6 269 (W) 469 cirrus none 21:01 62 30 11 235 (SW) 449 mstly clr none 22:01 61 30 12 211 (SSW) 385 clear none 23:01 60 30 8 256 (WSW) 478 mstly clr none 00:01 60 30 9 265 (W) 531 cirrus none 01:01 60 31 7 264 (W) 514 mstly clr none 02:01 59 31 7 224 (SW) 553 mstly clr none 03:01 60 30 9 270 (W) 1405 ptly cldy none 04:01 61 30 5 272 (W) 1383 cloudy none 05:01 62 29 7 269 (W) 1258 ptly cldy none 06:01 61 28 7 314 (NW) 844 ptly cldy none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
