Observing Specialist, 2nd shift: Noel Camron Hastings Jack and I worked on refocusing and aligning the old DIS slit camera again after the work on the new Apogee slit camera. It appears that the Apogee focal plane is where it should be and it operates correctly according to Jeff Morgan. We also checked the DIS collimators that seemed to be moving in focus due to the temperature drop. Both DIS and the slit camera are within operational limits now and ready for science, whenever the sky is. Bad weather kept us from any of the on sky items, such as pointing models or tests of the Apogee sensitivity. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El #Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 18:01 44 43 10 215 (SW) 368 cloudy none? 19:01 44 42 11 235 (SW) 190 cloudy none? 20:01 43 42 9 218 (SW) 201 ptly cldy none? 21:01 43 42 12 217 (SW) 222 cloudy none? 22:01 44 43 13 193 (SSW) 229 cloudy none? 23:01 44 43 17 201 (SSW) 205 cloudy none? 00:01 43 43 18 200 (SSW) 156 cloudy none? 01:01 43 42 17 187 (S) 265 cloudy none 02:01 44 36 24 190 (S) 194 cloudy rain 03:01 44 35 21 188 (S) 191 cloudy rain note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
