Opening was delayed by clouds. After we opened, we obtained a new instrument block for the AOTF. While we were closed we looked at the pointing model data. Several stars had large altitude errors. Jon and Craig looked at the A sector of the PMSS and found that it isn't behaving quite as it should. This would explain the problems Russet reported having last night while trying to take pointing model data and would explain the large altitude errors in in some of the data points. It may also explain the altitude motion we saw last night when the telescope exhaust fans were turned on and off. Because the pointing model data were possibly corrupted by the misbehavior of the A sector of the PMSS, I decided to revert to the old model. This meant reverting to the old 2ndary tip-tilts as well. 2nd half observing specialist: McMillan Second half was very peaceful, with the echelle and telescope both behaving well. Weather was cirrusy with good seeing, consistent with the last few nights.
