I observed for PU05 with SPIcam. The seeing was so-so, 1.5 to 2.0 arcsec. Tom and Denise Stephens were on site to observe for NM01, with GrIm2. The out of focus images show that the telescope is out of collimation. We saw a couple instances of image motion. An exposure came up with double images separated by 5" in azimuth. This occurred at 21:45 MST. The telescope was at azimuth 252, elevation 53. The wind was 12 mph out of azimuth 256. At 23:15 two exposures came up with 10" streaks in altitude. The telescope was at azimuth 204, altitude 54. The wind was 14 mph, out of azimuth 264. 2nd half observing specialist: Deglman Rotator was at -360 degrees when SPIcam was mounted.* This might have led to doubly twisting the camera's cable assembly, so the instrument was dismounted and remounted correctly. This also meant that the previously mounted GrIm had one twist in its cable as it sat dismounted. This was rectified after closing. NM09 was performed with SPIcam. Movement was once again seen in several of the images as evidenced by elongated stars.* A noteable sample is: /export/images/hayes_11_jan/abell0883_g.0075.fits, which showed movement in two directions. SPIcam crashed at 05:30 and could not be "killed" and reset.* Telescope was closed at 05:45 due to high wind gusts anyhow. For these reasons, the flat fielding opportunity for NM09 was lost.
