McMillan Tonight's scheduled programs (NM06, UW09, and PU02) were pre-empted in an attempt to get some more Shack-Hartmann time after being almost completely clouded out for the last three nights. Tonight the weather was again very unstable, but we managed to get nearly half an hour of time in the evening twilight, and a more valuable twenty minutes through clouds in the morning. Around 03:30, while we were waiting for the humidity to drop, Jeff Morgan and I noticed that axis B of the tertiary had just begun to return "not a full step" error messages just a few minutes earlier. We did some experiments and were able to confirm that the axis moved when commanded, despite the error messages. Homing the three actuator axes just once, from a starting position of 0, was enough to clear up the problem -- although we still don't know why it shows up so intermittently.
