McMillan Another nice clear night, with moderate winds and dust. The telescope was still pointing 5-10 arcseconds off with each slew, and the errors accumulated in one direction over many slews. Even more disturbing, there was an error of 16 arcseconds in one case immediately afetr a local pointing correction. Aside from the continued pointing difficulties, which were manageable, the telescope and instruments were generally well behaved. It was notable that the tracking and guiding were excellent over timescales of an hour, despite the pointing anomalies. I obtained good data for both monitoring programs, although the lensed quasar 2237 was at too high an airmass to allow the kind of seeing that would resolve its components. OBSERVER COMMENTS M.Strauss (PU01): Another night of good weather and good data. The observing was particularly efficient tonight, thanks to Russet's expert help.
