We did notice that when the wind shifted all observable phenomenon told us of very high wind gusts, although the MET tower wind gauge read only 29 mph gusts. We took a reading with the hand held anemometer and found gusts near 40 mph, which seem closer to reality. The first half was not all lost. Jeff Morgon found odds and ends to tie up while we were closed and Russ Owen was able to test the new TCC code while we were closed. So far it is looking very good for both projects! 2nd half observing specialist: Karen Gloria The telescope remained closed for the second half of the night. The sky is overcast and the radar map indicates precipitation marching northward from Mexico.
