A dust storm earlier in the day was falling out all night and was exacerbated by high winds of up to 40 mph. We did have DIMM operating until 03:00 MST and the cloud camera. We noticed that the cloud camera showed us the much anticipated return of comet Eric-Deutsch! It appeared sometime around 00:00 MST, April 1st and descended into the horizon near 04:00 MST... We were unable to get optical or IR corroborative imagery with the 3.5-m due to the dust closure. I was told that the UW 'StarDust' spacecraft has had course and trajectory alterations made so that it would rendezvous and collect particle samples from this elusive yet predictable object.
