We had to close from 22:30 to 23:00 due to high wind gusts, but they died down again. I did encounter two previously-observed problems with the DIS PC on setup: firstly, when rebooted it would show the AMIBIOS setup window instead of booting itself (this could not be a battery problem, since the machine was never actually off); secondly, there was one occurrence of the failure to write images to disk, which required that the PC be rebooted, causing a recurrence of problem #1 . . . Craig Loomis has been informed of these difficulties. Once we were on the sky, DIS behaved admirably. The telescope pointing was almost *too* good, with target objects frequently coming up under the slit. OBSERVER COMMENTS G. Richards (UC01): Except for losing 30 minutes due to high winds, things went like clockwork. X.Fan (PU01): It was a great night, wonderful data, absolutely no problems to report.
