It was reopened at 22:00 MST. Kevin Krisciunas and Armin Rest observed with GrIm2 for UW02. UW02 lost some time due to a problem with the dither script (see below). Craig got this working very quickly. *The echelle shutter failed on the first two test images during afternoon checkout. It worked on subsequent images, but needs to be checked out. *The dither scripts used with GrIm2 don't work under the current version of tcl. One script ~visitor1/gene/dither3.tcl has been revised to make it work. A more general solution will be worked out for the rest of the scripts. 2nd half observing specialist: McMillan The telescope was closed at 00:50 due to thick clouds and reopened at 01:45, then closed again from 03:25 to 04:10 due to high humidity. The telescope was closed for the last time at 04:40, again due to humidity, which remained high until it was too late to obtain any useful data. * After we had closed, we discovered that the echelle shutter had been stuck closed since the beginning of first half, and none of the data that had been obtained were useful. The shutter remained stuck closed on subsequent test images; it needs to be fixed immediately in order to be usable tomorrow night.
