Clear skies, no problems to report except for guider weirdness again. It seems that after resetting the guider and doing an init you cannot run the gfocus script. It always fails. I type a 'gcam doread' in the TCC, it works fine, and then I run gfocus and all is fine. Is this the lack of image data again? We also had a secondary 'pop' early in the night. See focus log for data. 2nd half observing specialist: Karen Gloria The clouds began to arrive around 2:30 MST. Clouds forced us to close the telescope at 4:15. Gordon Richards was observing remotely from UC. He got in some good observing time before we closed and continued with cals afterwards. OBSERVER COMMENTS UW07 (Zucker): "Despite the clouds creeping closer with every satellite image, the cloudcam stayed clear for the first half of the night, aside from a brief period of high haze. Seeing was mediocre to poor (1.5 - 2+ arcsec), particularly to the W and NW (where the wind was coming from). I did encounter nasty scattered light patterns in some of my images, particularly in V band (e.g. jan15.0073.fits). I also suffered a 10 minute net outage in which I was unable to even ping APO (although I could ping www.nmsu.edu). The connection came back suddenly, but dryrot had logged me out. All in all it was a pretty productive night. Thanks to Camron and Karen for their help." UC01 (Richards): "Another productive night, which was suprising given the satellite map when I started. We managed to get a lot of work done before we had to give up due to clouds."
