I was able to observe for the Lens Monitoring, but the seeing was very bad. I observed 2237. Michael Strauss was observing for the first half of the evening, but was almost totally shut out by the weather. It was overcast, and began raining around around 22:00. The humidity stayed high until 00:30, when we reopened. COMMENTS:A quick report: The weather certainly didn't cooperate, but for the brief period we were on the sky, the telescope and instrument behaved fine. We got two spectra of a star with unusually red colors. -Michael I was able to stay open until 01:30, and I had to close due to high winds and overcast conditions. I opened at 04:10, and Scott Anderson began observing. COMMENTS:We were open very briefly at the beginning of the 2nd half, but just for a few exposures through clouds. Clouds cleared considerably about 1.5 hours before twilight, allowing Tia to reopen, and some good data were obtained thereafter. Seeing was reasonable at about 1.2 arcsec. SPIcam and telescope performed without problem; but there was some problem with the guider (although unguided images were fine, at least in 5 minute exposures). Thanks Tia! The Guider was having some trouble, and I kept getting an error message of "bad reply" even after rebooting and restarting. Forecast:(4:30am).TODAY...PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A FEW AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORMS. SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST WINDS 10-20 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON. .TONIGHT...PARTLY CLOUDY. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE EVENING. .FRIDAY...PARTLY CLOUDY. BREEZY WITH ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AFTERNOON. SOUTHWEST WINDS 15-20 MPH AND GUSTY IN THE AFTERNOON.
