Charles Hoopes was on site to observe for the first half of the evening with GRIM2. We tried to focus through the clouds but we could not, so we closed a few minutes later. Lens monitoring was shut out by the heavy clouds brought by the edge of Hurricane Isis. Bernadette Rodgers was observing for UW13. I was able to open at 3:15 as there was a hole. It took us almost an hour to find a star to focus on, and I also had to fix the rotator by hand as it was at 389.93 degrees when it was suppose to be at 150.06.* COMMENTS:Not much to say. The weather was lousy, but I managed to get one or two bright stars through the clouds in the time we were open. We had trouble with the rotator once, other than that no problems to report...just lots of clouds. -Bernadette Forecast:(4:30am) Hurricane Isis is bringing heavy rain to parts of the Mexican Coast. Isis is forecast to drift northward over the next few days, eventually increasing moisture in the Desert Southwest. TODAY...PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS. .TONIGHT AND FRIDAY...PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS. .OUTLOOK FOR LABOR DAY WEEKEND...FAIR TO PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES AND WARM WITH ONLY A SLIGHT CHANCE FOR A SHOWER.
