Though the clouds were annoying most of the first half of the night, they did not necessitate a closure. The pointing of the telescope was very good, putting every object within a few pixels of each other on every slew. It seemed that despite the poor conditions, Xiaohui got some good spectra. - Camron Hastings I had a little trouble getting slit wheel C mounted in DIS. Nothing major, it just didn't want to seat properly at first. Austin had trouble with his run. Some of his commands were being ignored by the mcnode (the command to change his user priority and also some DIS commands). Mine were not, so maybe this was a problem with his remote session. He'd just had some trouble with his macintosh. There were some DIS command collisions (as a result of the confusion caused by the ignored commands perhaps?) and the slit mask wheel ended up not where it was supposed to be. So, about an hour was lost because he had to retake some images. Then it clouded up. I had to close at 3:55 MDT, but was able to reopen at 4:55. At least the night ended OK. - Karen OBSERVER COMMENTS PU02 (Fan): "nothing in particular to report, except the clouds." UW06 (Tomaney): "Ran into some problems early on by not running the latest version of remark (ran 2.41 instead of 2.42 and ended up hanging the mac). DIS managed to get into a confused state (possibly because i'd accidently issued more than one simultaneous move command) and i spent ~40mins in the wrong filter. Clouds wiped out about 2hrs. Managed to come away with an hour of ~1.1" data after things cleared up."
