Gaghik Tovmassian was on site observing for the UW04 program. COMMENTS:We observed optical counterpart of ROSAT X-ray source RX J2157+08. The object was identified as polar - magnetic CV from previous low-resolution spectrophotometry. The orbital period of the system is about 3.5 hours. The aim of the observation is to obtain high reslution , high temporal reslution spectrscopy for study of different components of the binary system. The run started smoothly, everyting was operating well. We had to interupt observations at 2:30 a.m. for an hour because of high humidity. However it went down eventually and we were able to resume observations. These allows us to cover a little bit less than two orbital periods of the system. We plan to complete another period tomorrow. We appreciate very much highly professional assistance of Tia Hoyes during observations.
