Charles Hoopes was on site, training Mark Bransford. The seeing was very poor. (no comments) I was able to observe 2237 for the Lens Monitoring program. Chris Stubbs was available for the DD01 time. COMMENTS:Our program was a mixed success. We did succeed in detecting PNe with DIS operating as a dispersed imager. Unfortunately, our main objective was to compare the throughput with medium and high resolution gratings, and the instrument was not configured properly(wrong grating set in place). Our main objective was defeated by this...otherwise, things went OK. There are several reasons I did not have the correct gratings in place: I just arrived at 5:30PM, and was helping Charles get set up to take biases. I did not get to the email that Chris sent about the grating swap until much later. There wasn't a note posted to the board stating any swap needed to be done. I had a slight problem getting the TCC to run properly at the beginning of the evening because a session was left running in the dome. Forecast:(4:30am) .TODAY...MOSTLY FAIR TODAY WITH A FEW AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORMS IN THE HIGHER PEAKS. .TONIGHT...MOSTLY FAIR WITH A FEW EARLY EVENING THUNDERSTORMS IN THE MOUNTAINS. .MONDAY...PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS MAINLY IN THE MOUNTAINS.
