The weather seems to have departed for the time being! GRIM was mounted and we were on the sky 20 mins ahead of schedule. Everything seems to be functioning normally, except the dew point sensor. I am disregarding its readings in favor of personal observation tonight. Currently it reads a dew pt depression of 2.3 degrees, but nothing outside feels remotely like condensation. During times of high risk I am checking the enclosure every 10 minutes. We closed at 21:10 due to high humidity, low dew point depression, lightning and thunderheads to the east, and wind gust speeds exceeding 40mph. Other than that, it was a pretty nice night. Though winds tapered off to about 33MPH around 03:30, the dew point depression remained too low to open. - Camron Hastings FOCUS LOG August 28th 1998 Best Telescope Temp Wind Seeing Time Instrmt Focus Az El Air/Truss Dir MPH filter FWHM" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:40 GRIM II +000/7041 175 23 12.8/15.1 072 24 K-f/10 ~0.9" WEATHER LOG August 28th 1998 Wind Time Temp-F Dewp-F MPH Direction Dust Sky Precip ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 61 47 10 78 (ENE) 199 Cloudy Rain 17:01 65 47 9 188 (S) 464 Cloudy Rain 18:01 61 49 7 47 (NE) 153 Cloudy None 19:01 58 51 7 54 (NE) 214 Ptly Cldy None 20:01 55 51 24 73 (ENE) 280 Ptly Cldy None 21:01 55 51 21 75 (ENE) 569 Clear None 22:01 56 52 27 75 (ENE) 894 Clear None 23:01 54 52 17 80 (E) 760 Clear None 00:01 54 50 37 70 (ENE) 817 Clear None 01:01 53 50 26 77 (ENE) 785 Clear None 02:01 53 50 13 56 (NE) 983 Clear None 03:01 53 49 24 73 (ENE) 1111 Clear None 04:01 52 48 23 73 (ENE) 936 Clear None note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
