Gordon Richards was the observer for the first half of the evening. Comments:Slow start due to impending rain. After that, not too bad. RN on red side of DIS is now up to 32 electrons again though. Gordon I was in the process of changing the instrument for the Lens Monitoring, and I noticed that the rotator was going to the wrong location. It did not know where it was, so I rezeroed it and tested it from the enclosure. This took up all the allotted time for PU01. Dan Zucker was on for the second half of the evening. Comments:Despite the haze, I managed to get some very nice broadband and emission-line images, with the FWHM's in some 15min guided H alpha and [S II] images coming in at just under 1 arcsec. The guider appears to be working well, and is strongly recommended for integrations longer than 1min, as stars can begin to look elongated in longer exposures. Thanks to Tia for staying up late (early) so I could do narrowband skyflats! Dan Also, I think there is a leak in the Cloud Camera dewar. The past two evenings I have had to fill it five times!(each night) Forecast:(4:30am) .TODAY...MOSTLY SUNNY THIS MORNING...PARTLY CLOUDY IN THE AFTERNOON WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF A THUNDERSTORM. .TONIGHT...A FEW EVENING THUNDERSTORMS OTHERWISE BECOMING MAINLY CLEAR. .SUNDAY...FAIR SKIES IN THE MORNING...PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AFTERNOON.
