Matt Holman was on site to observe with SPICAM. Comments:Everything was fine this night. The guiding seemed to not degrade the image quality tonight, although the seeing was not great in any case. No problems to report. --Matt Dan Zucker was available for the second half of the evening. Comments:The weather cooperated for my observing time, but the telescope seemed a bit cantankerous. I was trying to do driftscanning on the field of a galaxy but kept getting trailing. I switched to stare mode observations, and some of those were a bit trailed too. Tia did a track/pterr after each slew, and that seemed to help, but the stars in unguided exposures of more than a minute or so were a bit elongated. I did manage to get a few stare-mode exposures of the galaxy. At the end of my run I was able to do a somewhat successful driftscan, although the last frame was truncated. The data transfer time was painfully slow (1 - 2 minutes), which may be because I was saving my data to /export/images on Tycho. There is not much room on either /rot1 or /rot2 -- would observers with old SPIcam data on those disks *please* remove them? Seems the tracking problem was evident tonight. I observed for the Lens Monitoring program. No problems. I observed 2237.
