Gerhardt Muerer started this evening with SPIcam, no problems, observing seemed to go smoothly all night. The rotator was re-zeroed with minor offset. All computers and hardware performed without incident, except that the Gerhardt found the thumbwheel bug in REMARK 2.4.1a which crashed his Mac early on. This bug has been fixed in release 2.4.2, which is being tested here and elsewhere, and will be released as recommended version soon. When focusing for the lens monitoring program, I aborted an exposure on SPIcam, then all following exposures (2 focus) gave only bias exposures! I exited from SPIcam and restarted it. After that it seemed OK and things went smoothly. I observed one lens object in two filters. -Camron Hastings OBSERVER'S COMMENTS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- None ---------------------------------------------------------------------- FOCUS LOG June 20th, 1998 Best Telescope Temp Wind Seeing Time Instr Focus Az El Air/Truss Dir MPH filter FWHM" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:30 SPIcam -370/6586 199 47 18.6/20.5 267 14 V .84" 00:56 SPIcam -280/6517 -10 62 17.7/18.2 312 16 g' .95" 15:42 SPIcam -325/6424 129 48 16.0/16.6 316 12 g' .87" WEATHER LOG June 20th, 1998 Wind Time Temp-F Dewp-F MPH Direction Dust Sky Precip ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 78 21 13 234 (SW) 296 Clear None 17:01 75 18 8 266 (W) 455 Clear None 18:01 74 18 9 273 (W) 335 Clear None 19:01 71 18 12 284 (WNW) 476 Clear None 20:01 68 20 16 266 (W) 660 Clear None 21:01 64 20 12 274 (W) 805 Clear None 22:01 63 20 11 264 (W) 1343 Clear None 23:01 65 21 11 273 (W) 1031 Clear None 00:01 64 22 14 295 (WNW) 754 Clear None 01:01 63 20 10 290 (WNW) 682 Clear None 02:01 62 22 10 295 (WNW) 745 Clear None 03:01 62 24 7 287 (WNW) 679 Clear None 04:01 61 25 12 358 (N) 826 Clear None 05:01 60 26 10 332 (NNW) 833 Clear None note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
