The observers were myself for PU01, Asantha Cooray for UC06, and Bernadette Rodgers for UW10. The clouds were a problem for all of the observers. We had patchy, high, thick cirrus all night and into the morning. The was a problem with GRIM2 getting stuck in spectral mode. I sent out a detailed PR. I power cycled the instrument, but that didn't fix the problem. It eventually got out of spectral mode after several different move requests. Bernadette continued to have some of the same problem afterwards. OBSERVER COMMENTS Bernadette (UW10) - "Most of the night went very smoothly. After observing several objects with no problems (except variable clouds), at one point I was unable to issue a 'grimmove' command to set the config. No matter what parameters we tried, we got 'Move error, too many steps. Try again' Karen had to powercycle GRIM to recover. After that, I got the error a few more times, but it worked when I tried again. The neutral density filter wheel may have been the culprit- the 'grimmove 5 3 3' command most often got the error which sets imaging mode with a neutral density filter in. Once I stopped using the ND filter, I didn't get the error again. I was unable to use twilight for cals as there was another group on after me which was not on the schedule. Fortunately for me (and unfortunately for her) Karen agreed to stay up and get the cals for me after the next group finished. Thanks, Karen!"
