The dust count was over 2000, so I called Mark to confirm that it was ok to open as long as the humidity was low. I observed for Lens Monitoring. 0957 and 1120. No problems. Connie Rockosi was the second observer. She used SPICAM. I will include her comments in tomorrow's log as she has not mailed them to me as of yet. Alan Diercks was the observer for the second half of the night. Comments:After switching filter wheels and topping off the LN2 and the beginning of our run, the SPIcam shutter failed to initiailze. It seemed to be getting halfway open and Tia was able to get it to continue moving by tapping on it lightly with the filter wheel removed. Unfortunately it was not at all reliable and continued to stick. We only obtained one full exposure that was not plagued by the sticky shutter. I closed for about an hour due to a dust spike of 3600 counts at 3:40, and during this time, it was decided to take throughput data if I could reopen. At 5:00am, I began taking throughput data. It has not been reduced yet. No problems with this procedure.
