I waited for the dust counts to decline before opening. I observed for the Lens Monitoring program. Objects 0957 and 1120. No problems. Asantha Cooray observed with DIS for the first half of the evening. Comments:I monitored the gravitational lenses 1120, RXJ0911, HE1104. Deep images of the PG1115 field were also taken to conduct a weak lensing study of the lens region. About half an hour of the observations, scattered through out the observations, was lost due to unknown reasons related to REMARK crashing and DIS collisions. -a There seemed to be some problems with communications from Asantha's end. At the very end of his run, there was a DIS command collision which caused DIS to hang, and Mirella had to be rebooted. Also, while trying to run a focus sequence, the MAC and MC hung, and thus crashed, and I had to restart the MAC, MC and Remark. At 2:00, the dust counts were well above 1800 counts, and I took a flashlight outside and could see the dust in the flashlight beam. I decided to close. Julie Lutz was the observer available for the second half of the evening. We could not reopen due to dust.
