The observers were myself for EN00 and Bernhard Beck-Winchatz and Scott Anderson for UW02. The primary mirror support system came on-line OK when it was powered up this morning. The encoder for the altitude axis had to be replaced this afternoon/evening. The old one was found to be inoperable during telescope tests early afternoon. Site staff were able to diagnose and repair (a big job) in time for the second half of the night. Jon Davis stayed on until midnight to accomplish this. Drop in engineering time was designated for the first half of the night. The first half observers who were bumped were PU01 - Turner, and WS01 - Secker. After the telescope got on the sky, I ran pointing and collimation tests. UW02 observed for the remainder of the night.
