Alan Diercks switched with Lens Monitoring program for the evening, so UW03 was on first. Comments:Overall we had a reasonably productive night. We had one guider crash and a shut eye-lid at the beginning of the night which Tia quickly identified and fixed before it cost us any time. This could be a real problem if it happened in the middle of the night during a long exposure. I had to close at 23:45 do to high dust counts. I could not reopen until 2:15. The Lens Monitoring was shut out. Bob Nichol was the observer for the second half of the evening. Comments:Lost about an hour to dust at start of run. Observed 6 clusters with DIS seeing about 1.3'' throughout (focused twice) Lost three exposures (30mins) at end of night due to rotator problems. Twice looked for guide star near objects and failed The field was too sparse to find a guide star; I tried 5 times, but could not guide. The rotator seemed to be in the wrong place and then stopped tracking, and I reinitialized, but Bob stopped exposing by the time we tried to correct it with the reinit.
