Patricia Knezek was the observer for JH02. This was her third evening on site. Comments:Things went pretty smoothly tonight, after a late start at dusk because the eyelid on the nasmith port kept closing.* The weather was great, and the guider worked well when it could find a guide star within its tiny field of view! Otherwise, Tia introduced me to guiding off the slit viewer, which works well. Thank goodness for the slit viewer! I observed for the Lens Monitoring run, 0957. No problems, seeing was 0.98 arcsec. Michael Strauss and Xiaohui Fan were on site to observe for the PU02 program. Comments: An excellent night of clear skies and good seeing. Everything worked fine for our long exposures, and we got good data. We just wish we had a red chip that wasn't so noisy; the blue chip side looks great. and puts the red side to shame.
