The WSMR group, Mark Marley, and Sarah Maddison tested the Amber camera on a variety of bright stars and the moon. After a few hours of trying to locate bright stars, and checking all possible problems, Karen Gloria and I readjusted the Tertiary mirror, and finally got back on target. Comments:had problems finding our first very briught star due to stuff up in telescope orientation. took three hours -- bit of a bummer, but these things happen. once orientation sorted out, things were fine. found our first bright star, offset, focus etc.. then went to slightly dimmer source -- nothing andother source --nothing ?? went back to initial source and it was there again. no idea what happened. everything else went smoothly for the evening. amber doesn't seem to be able to detect stars under an L mag of 3 which is pretty pathetic.... but maybe it's a camera problme... temperatures.... whatever. sarah & mark nmsu. Connie Rockosi substitued DIS for a sick SPICAM. Comments:I asked for comment, but she forgot to send them to me. I observed for the Lens Monitoring Run, 0957, and AR CVn. No problems.
