Opening was delayed by clouds. PU01 was clouded out, as was the first 1.7 hours of UC06. Rhodri Evans was the observer for that program. I had one minor problem with the telescope. After the first slew the altitude pointing was 11 arcminutes off, as reported by the magnesensor position error. I corrected the pointing by slewing the altitude axis past a few magnesensors. No time was lost. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: Camron Hastings Everything went very smoothly. At 03:00 we closed for clouds and did not open again. At time of closing the wind gusts were as high as 45mph! ---Observer Comments--- We were using GRIM with the polarimeter to study the near IR scattering properties of dust in reflection nebulae. Our targets were NGC 7023 and NGC 1999. It was cloudy until about 21:30 MST, whereupon it cleared up. As it was too late to do anything on NGC 7023 we went straight to NGC 1999. It stayed clear until about 00:30, so I got about 3 hours of data. In this time I did J and K-prime polarimetry, and everything appeared to work fine. The clouds which came at 00:30 set in for the night, no further data were obtained. Thanks to Karen and Camron for their help, a different way to see the New Year in.
