Tom Harrison from NMSU wanted to get sky flats early as well. The humidity was nice and low (66%) compared to the last weeks. Jon Davis and Dave Woods worked on the primary mirror support systems. There are still some issues to b resolved with it, though it was operating tolerably well this evening. GRIM was behaving badly again tonight. We started the early evening getting only 1 frame out of every 3 to work while doing twilight flats. It began to start working on every frame again shortly before NM05's scheduled observing time. My first thought is that this was a thermally related problem due to the warm-up time and it was suggested that perhaps there was a moisture issue somewhere in the electronics and after the boards heated a bit and any condensation evaporated. All worked fine for the rest of the evening. 2nd half observing specialist: Karen Gloria I spotted some small intermittent image oscillations during the second half of the night. We were closed from 2:30 to 3:50 MST, due to clouds. OBSERVER COMMENTS NM05 (Harrison): "Great photometric night." NM12 (Chanover): "The first hour or so of my time was the best. I got some really nice Saturn images at that time - I will try to make a 'pretty picture' for the APO web page if there is any interest."
