The dome was opened at around 16:30. The weather was beautiful tonight with clear skies and light winds. Russet McMillan and I were the observing specialists for the night. The rotator was reassembled and zeroed at the beginning of the evening. We did instrument block measurements for GRIMII and SPIcam. In the case of GRIM, we made some very small changes -- 1.29 degrees subtracted from the instrument angle rot_inst_ang, and .0005 degrees adjustment inthe boresight, rot_inst_xy. For SPIcam the changes were so negligible we stuck with the previous instrument block measurements. The engineering time that remained after the instrument blocks were completed was used for training Russet on SPIcam and the lens monitoring program. Julianne Dalcanton was the observer for the second half. She took data on 3 more edge on galaxies in K short with GRIM. Over 1200 images were obtained. Julianne commented that things went smoothly for her tonight. Wind data were not available in the weather log because a cow chewed through the cable, but it was quite obvious on casual observation that the wind speed was far below the limit.
