It was a clear, photometric night. The seeing was a bit below average at the beginning of the night, but improved to 1.0 arcsec. The telescope pointing was very good. Nearly all of the targets landed right on the slit of the spectrograph. Telescope tracking was tremendously improved over last night's performance, thanks to the efforts of the day staff. The PU01 lens monitoring run went well. Scott Austin (WS02) had a productive run doing spectroscopy. Elizabeth Rizza (NM02) also obtained good spectroscopic images of some rather faint targets. With the conditions being photometric Elizabeth and I decided to put SPIcam on to image some of the targets she missed last night when we were having trouble with the telescope tracking. We tried drift scanning, but kept getting short trails. Maybe some of tonight's engineering time can be used to investigate what went wrong there. After a few failed attempts at drift scanning, we decided to just take staring frames, which worked out OK. OBSERVER COMMENTS NM02 (Rizza): Everything seemed to go smoothly, except for the problem with the drift scanning.
