Mark Bransford and Vanesa Calarzo were on site to observe with SPIcam. They used the time to familiarize themselves with the instrument. I put the full foam baffle in for their dome flats, this made a huge improvement in the uniformity of the flats. They actually look quite usable. *I knocked out three pieces of the ring baffle when I was putting in the foam baffle. Camron has kindly offered to put them back in, as I was unable to get them to fit. *Spicam had a large condensation spot on it's camera window. The window heater may not be working. I rigged up a nitrogen line from the vent of the large fill dewar to the camera filter box as a temporary solution. *DIS's micro was off and I didn't spot it until late this evening, so the cameras are warm and will have to be pumped and cooled tomorrow. Despite the weather, I did not have a very quiet evening. 2nd half observing specialist: Camron Hastings Clouds, clouds, clouds....I had to re-install the NA2 baffle system. Karen mentioned that a couple had come loose, and when I checked on them I noticed that the baffle system had been incorrectly installed. It was a minor mistake, but was necessary to completely remove them. The subsequent re-installation caused a few nicks in the new paint job. They are now in correctly, though they still need a better system of fastening to the NA2 port or they are likely to come lose again. Perhaps some tape on each end. They are most vulnerable to the installation of the deep foam baffle. Discussed briefly the new "top-hat" baffle system with Jon Brinkman. Nichole King logged on from NMSU a couple of times retaking some dark calibration data with GRIM to run some tests on.
