Pointing after returning to normal configuration was very good. Eric Deutsch and Bruce Margon observed with DIS both in low res and imaging mode. The run went well, good seeing, and serveral targets were obtained. I encountered difficulties with both the GMECH controller and the guider. The GMECH controller's port had to be cleared several times via a host session in order to send commands or obtain status (two time the controller had rebooted). The guider hung while guiding, and I again had difficulty recovering from the failure (though it spontaneously healed itself). Eric wanted to note that the first field that he and Bruce slewed to was off. I checked with another pointing correction, and the pointing star was dead on. Pointing was good all night. Maria Geha observed with Spicam again, good seeing and conditions. No problems with Spicam, conditions were good, and the guider behaved. I could not observe for the Turner Lens program due to the dewars being too warm to immediately cool. I began pumping on them for cooling later today. I had checked the camera and autofill system shortly before opening, and well into Eric's run, all was fine. The system had lost pressure. OBSERVER COMMENTS: Eric Deutsch ..good night, everything worked nicely. On initial slew, telescope ended up in wildly wrong place. Maria Geha It is not clear whether I will be able to do good photometry with this data, but I think I will achieving other science goals.
