The remaining engineering time was used to help characterize the guider. *Communication with the guider hampered progress. Anytime the guider software requires a reboot, the guide camera controller must also be rebooted. The required rebooting often disables communication with the guider via TCC. (cannot host to tcc_cam) Rebooting TCC is then required. Tests with the bin factor of the guider were halted as the needed bad pixel map, created for the binning factor used, could not be properly loaded for use by the guide software. (the guide software requires a bad pixel map) Jeff Morgan and I tried several approaches, but were unable to come to a solution. If the above communication problem could be resolved, or handled more gracefully, testing of the guider could continue parasiticly. The good news is that binning may help considerably to reduce the sensitivity of guider focus for centroiding. Brooke Skelton use the last half of the night, imaging with Spicam. The sky was clear, with good to great seeing. Brooke encountered one CCD readout error, error reading from SCD. This occured only once and without further impact to the observations.
