Winds were out of the North/Northeast at 20-25mph and carried considerable dust. We eventually had to close at 23:00. Gordon Richards was the first observer, continuing observations of QSO's. We lost most of the available twighlight and some scheduled time due to telescope issues, mainly three elevation run-aways and poor telescope pointing. As noted above, the dome was closed due to blowing dust. Nick Devereux observed on sight using DIS in imaging mode. The seeing improved to 1.3-1.5arc-sec, but the success of the observing is questionable. We noticed that when we changed mask positions, that the wheel was not positioning correctly. Some tests early this morning confirmed that our suspicions. I homed all devices and the wheel could be positioned with no problems. The dust count did rise again during Nick's run, but I remained opened. There was no visual evidence of dust as before so, the call was made to stay open (only for about 30-45min. in total). The slitview camera worked flawlessly. I was not able to completely test the guider centroiding.
