Joni Johnson and Tom Harrison had begun taking darks at 20:30. I began to try a focus sequence as soon as we opened, but, had to close at 21:35 as the sky became completely overcast. Joni used the available closure time to practice with GRIM and DIS. There was quite a bit of lightning and high humidity through the evening. The dust count shot up very high a number of times. The humidity mixed with dust caused a heavy haze and slight fog. Paul Hodges and Ted Wyder were the observers for UW09, using DIS. They used most of their available time working with the lamps. We were not able to reopen.
