The Lens monitoring program was successful in obtaining complete sets for 0957 and 1422. Conditions appeared to be photometeric. *Gordan Richards then used DIS in Spectral mode for detection of Qso's. Unfortunately, it was discovered that the grating has shifted significantly since the afternoon arc-lamp calibrations. We confirmed this be stopping for a quick cal exposure. Found was that the Blue and Red spectra had shifted 125A and 237A respectively (low res). I had referenced the step positions during the afternoon, and a dis status showed -the same step position! No errors were reported from DIS in regard to setting the gratings and Karen had successfully `homed' all components during afternoon checkout. The only known change was the change from imaging to spectral modes. At the end of Gordon's run, we made another cal exposure, but with 1, or less, of a pixel change in line positions. Noriega Crespa and Peter Garnabich then used Grim in imaging mode. The seeing was excellent, generally 0.9 - 1.1 arcsec. *The azimuth axis did enter an oscillation, but we quickly recovered. Conditions remained photometric, it was a very productive night.
