Jon Davis and I began testing with the PULNIX instrument. After testing the telescope at a few positions including zenith, we discovered no signs of oscillation. We let each image track for 15-20 minutes. At 21:00, I began obtaining data for the Lens Monitoring. I observed 0957 and 1422. Julie Lutz was to begin at 22:52, but she was encountering problems on her end and, at this time, I noticed the winds increasing and the humidity rising. I went up to look from the catwalk, and observed a large electrical storm to the North. It seemed to be approaching, therefore I thought it best to close. We reopened at 00:15, and Julie had a few problems again (on her end), and she finally obtained, at best, one short exposure. Tom Harrison observed under clear skies. WE seemed to encounter a problem associated with "GETTING TO CLOSE TO THE ZENITH" again. The telescope stopped tracking and we could not find a star on slit viewer. I stopped the telescope (motors off), then reinitialized, and this cleared up the problem. Tom obtained Novae Spectra. Another animal sighting: as I entered the building from the parking lot, after filling the cloud camera, a bat that was hanging above the door swooped at me.
