I didn't get on the sky until 22:30 MDT due to a *rotator runaway and a *problem with the dis mount. Jeff Morgan, Tia Hoyes and I sorted out both problems by 22:30. The telescope was closed at 00:30. A lot of pollen was visible in the air. It was reopened at 02:50 MDT. It was rather difficult to tell just how much pollen or dust was in the air with the bright moonlight. Jeff Tia, and Jon Davis worked on the rotator (for the guide camera installation) during the day and into the evening. Later on I observed a spectrophotometric standard. I planned to observe one starting at the meridian and continue as it increased in airmass. I didn't have one near there, so I chose a high airmass standard to observe through decreasing airmass. Due to the pollen closure, I got just one set of observations. So, for what it's worth, I have throughput data taken at 2.6 airmass. These are on Marmot in /marm0/throughput/970618. Alan Diercks observed remotely again to try to locate an optical counterpart for the recent gamma-ray burster. A stubborn cloud was right in front of his target area most of the time, though.
