At 22:15, the wind picked up considerably from the Southeast. The result was considerable blowing dust and pollen. The Dome was closed at 22:30. Scott Friedmann obtained one QSO candidate. Paula Szkody was also unable to oberve due to the dust and gusting winds. Dust conditions began to improve shortly after 1:00, and the dome was opened at 1:30 with marginal conditions that quickly improved. Crespa and Garnabich then used GRIM to observe their molecular outflow targets. The ambient temperature fluctuated and the dome environment was warm causing several focus exposures for the first hour or two. Jon Brinkmann looked into the DIS grating problem report last night. Nothing definitive was found, though a limit switch for the grating was tightened, appeared loose. I then ran six arc exposures, moving to imaging mode between each arc exposure. The results were very encouraging with the arc features moving no more than 1pixel.
