Charles Corson and I observed 2237 and 2345 for the Lens Monitoring run. No problems to speak of. Rupali Chandar was the observer for JH02. Comments:Tia, thanks for the excellent help. The night went very smoothly. The only problem was intermittent cirrus. However, we were able to work on young clusters in M33 throughout our half (the first half) of the night. Rupali Chandar, Holland Ford Due to the GRB observations, the NM07 run traded time to accomodate this. Explanation from email:Chris Stubbs will be PI for this program and any time used will be "reimbursed" to the NM07 PI (Salman Hameed), either from the UW 1Q1998 GRB program or from DD time. NM07 observers are welcome to participate in the GRB chase if they wish and should coordinate with Chris Stubbs as needed. Alan Diercks worked through heavy cirrus. We began encountering high winds, and the snow was blowing around quite a bit, so I decided to close at 5:00. A few minutes later, the wind speed was 36.4 MPH. We did not reopen. Comments: The telescope worked smoothly and we had no problems to speak of other than poor seeing and some thick cirrus. Latest Forecast:(4:30am) TODAY...FAIR SKIES AND A LITTLE WARMER. .TONIGHT...VARIABLE HIGH CLOUDS. .WEDNESDAY...PARTLY CLOUDY. .OUTLOOK FOR NEW YEARS DAY...PARTLY CLOUDY.
