Conditions were not conducive for dithers though. I copied the azimuth fiducial errors to the telescope offset section of this log for Kaike. The enclosure stopped mid-way in it's path to close during morning twilight. The enclosure power box revealed a current overload, with a suspicion that one of the brakes engaged on one of the motors. I commanded the telescope to move from 30 to 5 degrees, but it abruptly stopped and acted like it hit the wind baffle. Although the brake would clear, the telescope continued to refuse commands to slew below 27 degrees (with neither the TCC or the MCP). I also noticed a faint humming sound and vibration coming from the telescope when I initialized the axis. I power-cycled the wind baffle, which fortunately restored the telescope’s ability to slew throughout its full altitude range.
