We watched the clouds for the next couple of hours and then just before 10:00Z the clouds started to break up again, so we powered-on FPS, and shortly thereafter what had been clear sky started to fill in again. The clouds just never cleared enough in time for us to open tonight. ---- Engineering Issues ---- The 180L LN2 dewar pressure is relatively low: <15 psi, but more like 12-13 psi when a fill was in progress. ---- Observing Log ---- ============================================================================ AFTERNOON CHECKOUT ============================================================================ All systems alive and responsive. After the fill the clouds were pretty widespread, so delayed opening for now. 08:47Z - Totally cloud-covered right now. 09:51Z - About half the sky is covered now. Still not clear if more clouds aren't coming in, but I powered-on the FPS and set the GFA temperature set point to -20C for now. 10:15Z - I had walked down to judge the sky and consider opening, but it was fairly obvious right as I walked outside the clear spot overhead on the cloud cam was a very small sucker hold and there were considerable clouds east and west of us. I watched the sucker hole fill in from down at the enclosure. 10:40Z - Now into twilight it's evident tonight is just not a night we're going to open due to the clouds. Ventilation has been stopped. 10:42Z - FPS powered-off. Positioners are home/folded.
