Perhaps we shouldn't send any command if the without-fpi command is active? - After we sorted out the FPI issue, we swapped the gang connecter back into the podium and retook the FPI evening calibration. APOGEE exposure 25 is an FPI cal. We also retook dome flats after we reconnected the gang connector. ---- Engineering Issues ---- - The 180L dewar weighed in at 263lbs and 21:52. I was able to fill it normally, but the dewar scale seems to be off, so the TPM keeps reporting 263lbs. After the fill, it looks like we disconnected the LN2 line normally, but in the process of stowing the line, the opened the line back up about a quarter turn. We were leaking LN2 for a few hours before we caught it after the fpi issues were sorted out. When we closed, we confirmed that the dewar was completely empty. We did a primary fill at 12:45Z, Kaike will wake up at 8:00AM to swap in a new dewar and complete a secondary fill. ---- Software Issues ---- - Despite what appears to be consistent focus errors, the autofocus rarely seems to apply an adjustment. We primarily used gfa_fwhm.py to focus. - When we switched to dark_monitor, the guiding rms never got below 1, it was stuck at ~1.3. In similar conditions on bright fields, we were able to get below 1 very consistently. - When completing the night log, we noticed that many datapoints are missing in Influx from the past night, but not everything. Wind was still updating. ---- Observing Log ---- APOGEE and BOSS cals taken The FPI shutter showed a state "?" in STUI. According to the afternoon cals, it appears to have stayed closed, even during the FPI exposure. Mirror numbers in spec 22:07:44 sp1.motor.move= -3071, -3069, -3067 22:07:44 Hartmann collimate output sp1: offset: r= -3958 (Out of focus); b= 6.8 (Out of focus) sp1: pred. move: spAverageMove= -3071 sp1: pred. resid: r= -886, b= -2.8, txt= OK, spTemp = 2.1 Blue ring not adjusted Clear weather at sunset, with some winds close to the closure limit, but they seem to be dropping. Began ventilation at 00:45Z. We continued to work on the fpi issue. Out best theory is a power issue due to the wind we've had for several days now, but the FPI rack is on a UPS. We can connect to the apogee-ics machine, and ping the fpi machine from there, but we cannot run the fpi scripts.
