Lost 4 hours to hardware. APOGEE disk warning: Apogeediskwarn apogeeql.icsDiskAlarm ('Warning', 696) Updated instrument block for eng cam with grid data. Multiple rotator out of closed loop events and rotator Glentek power failure prevented us from getting ring data. ---- Observing Log ---- ============================================================================ AFTERNOON CHECKOUT ============================================================================ There were several various APOGEE LN2 and Temperature alert rules disabled. We re-enabled them so we can properly monitor APOGEE. We tested the engCam connection again this afternoon and also tested the movement of the engCam stage. All engCam movements and communications are working properly. Took a test dark to confirm images were taken and written. ****************** Home/Relax Mirrors ****************** ------- Primary ------- desOrient=0.00,-59.30,-8.75,-512.73,1906.51,0.00 encMount=12500.00,-1600.00,5350.00,47050.00,-8800.00,-8400.00 home E,F: "position error", "999999999, 999999999, 999999999, 999999999, 000000000, 000000000" home D: "position error", "999999999, 999999999, 999999999, 000000050, 999999999, 999999999" home A,B,C: "position error", "000000000, 000000000, 000000050, 999999999, 999999999, 999999999" Completed 'relax' process. --------- Secondary --------- home D: "position error", "999999999, 999999999, 999999999, -000000050, 999999999" home E: "position error", "999999999, 999999999, 999999999, 999999999, 000000000" home A,B,C: "position error", "-000000177, -000000102, 000000144, 999999999, 999999999" Re-enabled the TCC Collimate. M1 orientation back to where it should be. Set the TCC instrument block to 'spectro' and recorded mirror numbers. Mostly cloudy, radar and rain around. ============================================================================ NIGHT ============================================================================ 01:00Z-Started ventilation. 02:00Z- stopped ventilation due to rising humidity. Sky and humidity improving. 05:49:07 encl25m : open; started ventilation When opening, the telescope moved from 5 degrees to 3.25 degrees altitude axis init slewing to stow. When counterweights adjusted to 370 in MCP window, telescope voltage about 7200 moving up from stow. Adjusted the counterweights to 360 in MCP window to improve balance. Drops about 20 arcmin after a stop button is pressed, and voltage is about 3000 moving up. Rotator out of closed loop at 170 degrees RA, Dec = (-130", -15") Best focus at zero Began grid data ecam images 32-83 Image Scale: -16918.9, 16864.2 Rot_inst_ang= -90.48 Updated engcam inst block Ring data ecam images 100-? Rotator out of closed loop at 150 degrees. Rotator out of closed loop at 45.4 degrees and 78.3 degrees. When we went down to watch the rotator move, it went out of closed loop at 98 degrees. Nothing seemed abnormal on the drive surface, but the amplifier lights for +15V, -15V, and +62V on the Glenteks don't turn on. We checked the external power supply fuses, which were all ok, consistent with the lights on the amplifier. The MCP cannot completely clear the rotator for movement, and the Status window in STUI shows amplifier disabled. No other interlocks thrown. Neither are hot spares. Attempted to contact Ryan and James. 09:22:07 encl25m : closed; Rotator still at 98 degrees. 9:30Z- Started APOGEE morning cals. ---- Mirror Numbers ---- PRIMARY: -------- Scale: 1.000000 MIGS TONIGHT NOMINAL Axial A: 0.0080 0.0080 Axial B: 0.0260 0.0330 Axial C: -0.1160 -0.1140 Trans D: -0.0393 -0.0395 Lateral E: 0.3315 0.3310 Lateral F: 0.5305 0.5335 GALILS Commanded: 12500 -1600 5350 47050 -8800 -8400 Actual: 12500 -1600 5350 47050 -8800 -8400 SETMIR VALUES PrimDesOrient: 0.0 -59.3 -8.75 -512.73 1906.51 PrimOrient: 0.01 -59.26 -8.77 -512.68 1906.6 SECONDARY: ---------- Focus: 0.0000 Air temp: 17.44 Altitude: 29.999996178438877 MIGS TONIGHT NOMINAL Axial A: -9.4580 -9.4610 Axial B: -9.4740 -9.4760 Axial C: -9.5050 -9.5050 Trans D: 0.0940 0.0880 GALILS Commanded: 4632000 4640250 4658050 -50 -3450 Actual: 4607124 4607168 4607432 -50 -3450 SETMIR VALUES SecDesOrient: 3657.0 0.0 0.0 0.0 42.22 SecOrient: 3656.99 -0.1 0.02 0.02 42.75 ---- Telescope Status ---- Status at: 09:29Z Telescope stowed at: 121.0, 30.0, 0.0 mount Instrument mounted: engCam Counterweights at: 398 402 400 400 ---- Software Used ---- --- Afternoon disk space --- Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/vda2 7.7G 6.9G 435M 95% / /dev/vdd 688G 654G 34G 96% /home /dev/loop1 194M 133M 52M 73% /boot tmpfs 3.4G 0 3.4G 0% /dev/shm /dev/vdb 19G 8.8G 9.1G 49% /exports/hub-local /dev/vdc1 21T 14T 7.0T 66% /data 10.25.1.230:/data 21T 14T 7.0T 66% /data --- Software --- STUI : 1.7.13 alerts : trunk apo : trunk boss : unknown -boss.specMec : Offline gcamera : FAILED guider : unknown hartmann : 1.8.0 hub : Tag: v4.2 mcp : 2.0-7-g8799 -mcp.plc : 34 -mcp.azFiduci : v1_146 -mcp.altFiduc : v1_146 -mcp.rotFiduc : v1_146 platedb : 2.8.0 sop : 4.0.8 tcc : 1.4.0 apogee : not availble apogeecal : not availble apogeeql : unknown STUIAdditions : 3.1.7 idlspec2d : v5_7_12 plate-mapper3 : NOCVS:v7_0_9 petunia : 2.2.3 autoscheduler : git sdss_python_module: trunk mangadrp : trunk exported
