This happens multiple times per night, and it usually disappears = after less than a minute on its own. JohnD and David, can you check please why it happens? We disabled his alert at the moment. 2. Likely APOGEE MPTs on FPS are flipped. 3. MCP registers apogee gang connector position as "Sparse" When it is actu= ally in densepak port. ---- Observing Log ---- Afternoon --------- Checked all systems that we can check. The BOSS exposures, bias and dark, flat, amd arc, look obvious. APOGEE evening calibrations was taken, checked. Ventilation postponed due to approaching weather system with verga and rada= rs. Night ----- we took some APOGEE dome flats and found a good transparency of fibers. With the same exposure time as for the flats taken with plates and cartridges we see some 3x improvement. Mostly it should be addressed to Summer work by JohnW and we see the consistent improvement in the internal Quartz Flats. At the same time, we find that 23 fibers are missing in the Dome Flat taken through fibers plugged to the FPS. We also tried to take a much longer dome flat and ensured that there is no signal in those fibers. The missing fibers are 13, 21, 25, 48, 56, 61, 79, 82, 95, 104, 122, 129, 153, 165, 181, 208, 211, 228, 238, 243, 269, 278, 281. Not only the total of number of missed fibers, positions of missed fibers a= lso match the assumption that MTPs are flipped (rotated by 180 degrees). If MPT= s are flipped, two fibers are expected to missing per MTP. Also, we have 2 more f= ibers reserved for the FPI, ## 75 and 225, and one broken fiber #25. 2*10+2+1 =3D= 23. When we look at which fibers are missed, they match the assumption. Fiber 1= 3, 21, 25 are missed, fiber 25 is broke, in MTP1, fiber 61, 79, 82 are missing= in MTP 3 (because of the flip, the reserved FPI fiber is not fiber #75 in the m= ale connector), fiber 211, 228, 238 in MTP8 are missed. Two fibers are missing = in each of other MTPs, e.g. #48, 56 in MTP 2, # 153, 165 in MTP6 etc. 12:30Z: Do a primary and a secondary fill on BOSS cameras. start apogee morning cals.
