Moon tonight at 9h 26m 13, +20d17.9m. (Suggestion: if clear sky, take an undithered exposure on a field, and repeat at several focus offsets, BOSS and APOGEE.) If you get to open, please test the full goto-field routine (load a design, then hal goto-field). That should slew and do acquisition (one iteration with full correction) and start guiding. It will automatically set the -432 offset for the rotator. I (José) will be online later in the evening in case there's some debugging needed. ---- Observing Summary ---- We were open most of the night, but clouds (and some associated radar returns) disrupted on-sky work for the last several hours. We tested 'hal goto-field'. Jose addressed a bug during the testing and then end-to-end it worked. There are a few things that will eventually be optimized and some additional options to be added, but this was a success. After the 'goto-field' testing we did a full 12-point dither on a BOSS field with FVC images on both dithers and reverse moves. This takes significantly more time than the regular dithers, but hopefully this is a useful data set. See Log body for the details. We did not take more moon data after the dither+FVC images data set because the clouds grew worse. We worked some more on setting-up sdss5-obs2 and appended new command info to the help table we've been referencing on the wiki. We also updated tpm-linux on sdss5-obs1 now that gang.c has been updated.
