The plan is to center the top deck and then take a full scan 01:31Z- tcc track/pterr 230, 70 obs /rotty=obj /rota=0 /magRange=(12,13) Aidan noticed that with the star we were on, it needed about double the exposure time from yesterday and was still very faint despite a similar focus. It was bright enough in the long pass filter, so we suspect it might just be a blue star. Decided to use the long-pass filter to center the top deck, and we'll go back to this conundrum. Increased the secondary focus to 365, FWHM=11.5 Top-deck centering data indicates the day staff over-corrected in the A direction 54 pixels, 9.6 thousandths and overshot by 1 thousandths in the other direction I-band focal surface scan ========================== Is it possible the filter could have slipped so half of it is obscured? The faintness seems to be consistent between multiple stars Bright with the G filter Power-cycled the FSC to home the filter wheel. Seemed to be ok now. 03:27Z- Found a new star mag (12,13) which should work for the i-band focal scan. 03:36Z- Found a new star mag (13,14) that wouldn't saturate at short exposure times 03:45Z- Started focus sweep at tcc offset arc/pabs /computed 0.0, -1.5 tcc offset arc/pabs /computed 1.29904, -0.75 tcc offset arc/pabs /computed 1.29904, 0.75 tcc offset arc/pabs /computed 0.0, 1.5 tcc offset arc/pabs /computed -1.29904, 0.75 tcc offset arc/pabs /computed -1.29904, -0.75 went back to the center in between every focus sweep at the edge 05:24Z- Completed focal scan for tonight Aidan is happy with the results we got. He will confer with Robert and Steve. Anticipate more engineering adjustments done on Monday, perhaps with additional focal scans later. 09:00Z-Alt brake initiated during slew with Goto5 script because the move did not decelerate when slewing. Used MCP to move to 5 degrees. 09:03Z- closed enclosure.
