mounting Cart 7. No interlocks were tripped, the ROT position was <5”, and the instrument lift was functioning as expected but the primary pneumatic latches would not engage onto Cart 7. We tried cycling the instrument lift and engaging the latches several times, using progressively more instrument lift force, but 7 still did not register as being in place nor did it latch. We lowered Cart 7 back onto the lindy cart’s forward plate (the plate farthest away from the handle side) and were successfully able to remount Cart 3 which was situated on the lindy cart’s rear plate. We tried mounting 7 again and noticed neither the instrument lift control panel’s “Cart In Place” nor “Cart on Lift” LEDs would illuminate and the latches would not engage; when we mounted Cart 3, the “Cart in Place” LED would illuminate, granting latch permissions, but not “Cart on Lift.” We concluded that the "Cart on Lift" LED is likely just burnt out. We took both carts back to the cart bay and inspected the forward plate’s sensors and alignment onto the lindy cart chassis. We situated Cart 3 onto the lindy cart’s forward plate, and were successfully able to mount 3 onto the telescope from the forward plate. After this we retried mounting 7 from the forward plate, the “Cart in Place” LED illuminated and the pneumatic latches engaged. We believe there was a minor misalignment between the lindy cart chassis and its forward plate because that's the only part we physically touched that resulted in things working again - some amount of rearranging cartridges, cycling the instrument lift, and moving the plate to inspect its sensors must have replaced it to a more acceptable position. We believe this is now a non-issue, but at no point tonight did we see the “Cart on Lift” LED illuminate so we recommend the LED be replaced.
